Pesticide Use

Pesticides are used by farmers to help safely manage pests such as insects, weeds, and fungi that may harm their crops either with the quantity or quality of it. The pesticides used help the crops grow efficiently and are even more sustainable than ever before. There are three different types of pesticides that can be used by farmers for their crops and these are herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.

Herbicides are used to regulate weeds that try to overtake crops, letting the crop receive all the nutrients it can to continue to grow.

Fungicides are used to protect crops from “disease causing” organisms that can quickly take over these plants and wipe them out entirely.

Insecticides are used to control the presence of insects that may eat the plants or carry diseases that may infect the crops.
