As Quality Assurance Manager at ADL, I oversee a comprehensive quality control program across multiple facilities. Our team ensures that products like cheese, butter, and milk meet rigorous standards for safety, consistency, and taste. From microbiological testing to critical control checks, we verify that every product exceeds regulatory requirements and adheres to ADL’s higher internal standards. Whether it’s auditing safety procedures, overseeing training programs, or ensuring proper labeling, quality is ingrained in every step of the process.

How did you get started in this career?

I began my career at ADL right after high school, working in the lab before pursuing a Food Science certificate from the University of Guelph. For over two decades, I’ve been dedicated to upholding and advancing ADL’s reputation for excellence in food safety and quality. Growing up, I even helped my father, who worked at ADL for 45 years, so the company has always felt like home.

Why is quality assurance so important?

Quality assurance is critical to maintaining ADL’s certifications and meeting the high standards of our customers, including major retailers and food service providers. Without these standards, we wouldn’t be able to sell our products. At ADL, quality is a shared value, from the producers to the CEO. It’s this commitment that ensures Islanders and customers beyond PEI receive products they can trust.

What do you love about working at ADL?

It’s the people and the pride in what we produce. I’m fortunate to work with an incredible team who share a commitment to quality. Every day, I’m excited to come to work and contribute to products that are well-known and loved across PEI and beyond. For me, it’s not just a job—it’s being part of a legacy of excellence.
